Thank You Mr. John Hughes

It pains me to write an ode to a man that passed away that helped shape my youth. Taught me how to embrace my self-loathing and inner dork. To all that know me well they know that my favorite movie is Pretty In Pink (tied with Rocky which is a whole other story). First time I watched this movie I fell in love with Molly and also was destined to be Duckie for my high school years. The outfits, soundtrack that is murder(Echo and The Bunnymen "Bring On The Dancing Horses" most slept on song), and all The Smiths placement in the record store is classic. Every time I watch the movie I always hope Duckie bags Molly. Even though he comes up at the end with Buffy The Vampire Slayer I still feel he belonged with Molly. Thank you Mr. Hughes!

P.S. Fuck Blaine!

Hungover thoughts...

School Boy Crush

Let's get this straight before all the haters start poppin' shit...there is nothing...I mean nothing you can tell me about Tisha Campbell from 88 to 94. Girls wanted to be her and all the dudes wanted to date her. Big forehead with the matching grill piece I still have a soft spot for you boo. Waking up and watching Martin season 1 (by the way is the only good season, season 2 is aight and that pains me to admit) has brought me back to a good place in a foreign land. And to top it off she stars in not one but two of my all time favorite movies. If you haven't watched School Daze or House Party by now there is no hope for you...Just sayin..don't want contemporary Tisha but I would have liked one make-out session in 1990 while I had on my Levis overalls and my Gap paisley shirt.

Plane Survival

For a 14hr flight to Japan you need to make sure you come correct or prepare to suffer. Recently invested in a nano and stocked it with a mean playlist for the ride. Took off and landed to The Boss...Ricky Ross "Magnificent". Damn that song gets me every time! Read The Sunday Time along with The Post. Got my Hemingway on and watched Almodovar's "Live Flesh" and finished it "Gangs of NY" provided by Continental. Of course didn't get to watch the end because we had to land. I was bummed! That with ambient and I was good money. Flicks tomorrow...
